Website for the London Low Ultra Emission Zone. Includes information on the rationale and design of the program, as well as information on compliance, enforcement, and coverage. Also provides access to reports on impact of the program on emissions and air quality.
Blog post providing descriptions of five different approaches being taken by cities around the world to reduce emissions and exposures to air pollution.
A smoke management program approved by EPA for prescribed burns. Describes elements of smoke management program
The Air District works closely with the California Air Resources Board to reduce the amount of air pollution from on- and off-road mobile sources, such as trucks, buses, construction equipment, and recreational vehicles. This site describes how BAAQMD is reducing emissions from mobile sources.
The Air Pollution Emission Experiments and Policy analysis (APEEP) model is an integrated assessment model that links emissions of air pollution to exposures, physical effects, and monetary damages in the contiguous United States.
"Reducing emissions from diesel engines is one of the most important air quality challenges facing the country. Even with more stringent federal heavy-duty highway and nonroad engine standards set to take effect over the next decade, millions of diesel engines already in use will continue to emit large amounts of nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and air toxics, which contribute to serious public health problems. Diesel retrofits can significantly reduce harmful air pollutants, improve the working environment of those operating diesel-powered equipment, and reduce smoke and odor from diesel engines. Diesel retrofit devices usually are not original equipment but are installed on a vehicle just prior to or after it has been serviced."
Tool to evaluate changes in emissions from power plants and vehicles resulting from energy policies and programs such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy storage. The tool can be run online or downloaded as a spreadsheet model. Each has somewhat different functionality.
Collection of information about air pollutant emissions controls selected by the Regional Air Quality Council, the lead planning agency for the Denver Metro/North Front Range region. The web resource includes information on the emissions reduction potential, costs, and impacts of a set of control strategies for NOx and VOC emissions to address ambient ozone.
Report describing a methodology for designing and implementing assessments of interventions to improve air quality. Includes an analysis of case studies, identification of needs, and recommendations for conducting an assessment.
