The EDF Turbine Map is an advocacy-focused geospatial tool developed by the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) in partnership with Moms Clean Air Force and EcoMadres. It is designed to expose the environmental and health impacts of gas-fired combustion turbines across the United States.
This resource, managed by the EPA Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations (OCIR), serves as the primary gateway for state, local, and tribal officials to navigate federal environmental resources, funding, and collaboration frameworks
The resource provided is the 2024 Toolkit for Local Climate Action, a collaborative guide developed by the African American Mayors Association (AAMA), the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and Elemental Impact
From the EPA website: "The Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database (eGRID) is a comprehensive source of data from EPA's Clean Air Power Sector Programs on the environmental characteristics of almost all electric power generated in the United States.
The data includes emissions, emission rates, generation, heat input, resource mix, and many other attributes. eGRID is typically used for greenhouse gas registries and inventories, carbon footprints for electricity purchases, consumer information disclosure, emission inventories and standards, power market changes, and avoided emission estimates."
Inventory of oil, gas, and petrochemical infrastructure in the U.S. Provides information on permitting status of infrastructure. Reports are accessed through a searchable mapping tool. Reports provide information on potential emissions, demographic information around facilities, and information on projects and permits.
Tool to evaluate changes in emissions from power plants and vehicles resulting from energy policies and programs such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy storage. The tool can be run online or downloaded as a spreadsheet model. Each has somewhat different functionality.
This resource provides information about the Property Assessed Clean Energy program which can be used to finance upfront costs for qualified energy, water, resilience, and public benefit projects with funding through a voluntary assessment on the property tax bill.
Toolkit providing access to information and resources about evolving loan funds, which are an internal capital pool that is dedicated to funding energy reduction or onsite generation projects that generate cost savings. A portion of those savings are then used to replenish the fund (i.e. revolved) allowing for reinvestment in future projects of similar value.
Website for the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund which invests in community-led projects to reduce carbon emissions, create economic opportunity, and help make Portland more resilient to a changing climate.
