AQMx is the Air Quality Management Exchange Platform, an online “one?stop shop” designed to build capacity among air quality managers worldwide. Led by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition and UNEP, it provides curated guidance, technical tools and models, data resources, and case studies covering core aspects of air quality management—such as monitoring, emissions inventories, source attribution, health impact assessment, legal frameworks, and sector?specific mitigation in areas like transport, household energy, agriculture, and waste. The platform is aimed especially at low? and middle?income countries and is structured to help governments and practitioners design and implement strategies to meet WHO Air Quality Guidelines and interim targets.
The toxic flooding vulnerability map is an interactive tool that ranks and visualizes how vulnerable petrochemical facilities and nearby communities in the Galveston Bay region are to toxic flooding. Built from more than 100 indicators across flood risk, chemical transport, facility hazards, ecosystem conditions, baseline health, and social and economic factors, it produces separate vulnerability scores for facilities and for community grid cells. Users—such as planners, engineers, policymakers, and Gulf Coast residents—can explore overall vulnerability, drill down to see which specific indicators drive risk in each location, identify high?priority facilities and neighborhoods, and use downloadable profiles and map layers to help target nature?based solutions that reduce both flooding and chemical exposure.
The Climate and Health Program uses CDC's Evaluation Framework to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of climate and health work. To highlight the evaluation planning process for climate and health, the program has translated the steps of the CDC Evaluation Framework into a video series. The videos showcase best practices evaluators can apply, as well as some common challenges, using real-world examples of today's most pressing climate threats, namely heat, flooding, and insect vectors.
The AQUA tool is an easy-to-use excel spreadsheet model that city staff can use with minimal guidance. It uses population, exposure, health and economic cost data, as well as epidemiologic evidence to help users calculate how emission changes can benefit local air quality and health.
