This website provides a set of tools and resources that allows users to conduct their own modeling of air quality, as well as create scenarios that link emissions reductions to changes in air quality. The tool was developed for application in India, however, the models seem generalizable to other geographies. The key tools include the SIM-Air reduced complexity air quality model, which is a spreadsheet based tool with simple source-receptor conversions of emissions to sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and PM concentrations. The tool also allows for scenario analysis for optimizing emissions reductions to meet air quality targets. There are also emissions calculators for mobile and stationary sources, also spreadsheet based. There is also a simplified lagrangian dispersion model that can generate a source receptor matrix for use in the SIM-Air model.
