New York DECinfo Locator

Description

Mapping tool that provides access to a wide array of information related to air quality management, including permits, air quality monitoring, community vulnerability, public engagement, and enforcement actions.

Questions this resource can help answer

  1. Where are permitted facilities located in my city?
  2. What facilities are currently undergoing enforcement actions?
  3. Which facilities are located within disadvantaged communities?

How do I use this resource?

There is a lot of information on this mapping tool that can seem overwhelming. All of the available layers are accessed through the panel on the left. For air information, go to "permits and registrations" and select "Air Facility Registrations", "Title V Air Facilities", "Air State Facilities". This will show all permitted sites throughout the state. However, you won't be able to see all of them until you zoom in to a specific location. You can also see air quality monitoring sites (both regulatory monitors and sensors) by selecting "Air quality monitoring sites" and "Community Air Quality Reports" under the "Environmental Monitoring" section. You can access information on enforcement actions under the "Legal Information" section. And you can add information on disadvantaged or environmental justice areas in the "Public Involvement" section.

Pro tips

There does not appear to be a way to download tables of selected information. Most of the resources provided for any specific facility are documents. Title V permitted facilities have data about permitted emissions.
